La Vuelta a Espana 2020 (Tourmalet Weekend)
In 2020, La Vuelta a Espana will visit one of the most iconic peaks in world cycling, the Col du Tourmalet 2,115 meters

Sunday 23rd August: Stage 9 (Biescas to Col du Tourmalet 135.6km)
Today sees the first mountain stage of the 75th La Vuelta Espana with a summit finish on the
Col du Tourmalet at 2115 meters.
We will operate transfers from Toulouse airport 12:00hrs & 16:00hrs to our hotel in Argelès-Gazost, Alternatively you can travel to Lourdes by TGV.
We spend the next 3 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Hotel du Gabizos.
On this weekend you will have the opportunity to ride along the race route up the Col d’Aubisque and the Col du Tourmalet without La Vuelta a Espana traffic.
Our location in Argelès-Gazost is excellent for accessing the Col d’Aubisque or Col du Tourmalet.
Saturday 22nd August: Col d’Aubisque or Col du Tourmalet riding day
After an early breakfast will shall take to you to the town of Laruns, bottom of the Col d’Aubisque where you can ride along the last 83.3km of tomorrow’s Vuelta a Espana stage 9.
After you have finished your ride we will take you back to our hotel in Argelès-Gazost or you can descend back down the Col du Tourmalet to Pierrefitte-Nestalas where you can take the purpose make bike path back to our hotel in Argelès-Gazost which will make a beautiful ride.
Our location is ideal for seeing the stage on the Col du Tormalet 2115 meters,
Col d’Aubisque 1,709 meters or the Col du Soulor 1474 meters.
For the non-bike riders we will travel to see the stage in Luz-Saint-Sauveur the base of the
Col du Tormalet. Alternatively you can have a relaxing breakfast and see the stage pass through the town of Argeles Gazost
Friday 21st August: Arrival day
Arrange your own flight to Toulouse . On arrival you will be met by our representative for the event(Jonathan Baxter) who has more than 25 years experience of organising rides in Europe.
When you arrive you can assemble your bikes, (for those on the first transfer will have an opportunity for a gentle ride, at tonight’s evening meal we will have a welcome meeting so you can get to know the rest of the group.

La Vuelta a Espana celebrates its 75th edition in 2020 will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3245 kilometres.
The 75th edition will feature 8 flat stages, 6 hilly stages, 5 mountain stages, 1 individual time-trial
1 team time-trial stage and 3 rest days
Monday 24th August: Departure Day
We shall be operating transfers from our hotel in Argelès-Gazoste to Toulouse airport at 09.00hrs arriving at Toulouse approximatley 11:00hrs.
